Boss Eddie Howe believes the back-to-back games against Hull and Leeds over new year have the potential to define Burnley's season.
An impressive run of five wins in six npower Championship matches has taken the Clarets to within three points of the play-off places.
Hull currently occupy a coveted top-six spot while Leeds lie just two points and one place ahead of Burnley ahead of the Bank Holiday fixtures.
"I said before this run of games that it is season defining because we're very keen to push on and keep getting good results," Howe told Press Association Sport. "But the league is so tight that if you don't win for a two games you can be looking over your shoulder, then if you do win back-to-back games you can be looking upwards.
"
We're still in that position really where our season could go either way and we're very keen for it to carry on as it has been the last few games.
"We're playing two tough teams in three days. It will be a really good test for our squad."
