Derby hope to receive good news on Steve Davies' recovery from a fractured skull when the striker undergoes his latest scan.
Davies suffered the injury during the 1-1 draw against Southampton at Pride Park on October 15.
He will have a scan on Thursday, on his 24th birthday, to see how his skull has healed.
The former Tranmere trainee underwent a minor procedure earlier this month to unblock sinuses.
Davies has been training as normal wearing protective headgear and hopes the scan will provide another step towards receiving the all-clear to make a return to action.
