Harewood agrees Forest return

by Setanta Staff , 30 December 2011 Harewood agrees Forest return

Marlon Harewood has agreed to rejoin Nottingham Forest on a four-month contract when he becomes a free agent on January 1.

The 32-year-old striker, who started his career at the City Ground and scored 51 goals in 181 league appearances, has been training with Forest for the past six weeks having spent a spell in China with Guangzhou R&F.

Boss Steve Cotterill told the club's official website: "We hope he will bring us a few goals. He has had a happy knack of scoring a few goals wherever he has been. "

He brings experience, he brings a good local knowledge and has played at the City Ground before so it's not new to him.

We don't have to worry about a young player coming in from a Premier League club who is not quite up to playing in the Championship at this moment in time.

"He brings good experience and he hasn't come in on a big wage, which is a credit to him. I certainly think if he had joined another club he wouldn't have joined them on the terms we've offered him until the end of the season because of our situation being so tight."

Harewood is unlikely to feature against Ipswich at Portman Road on Monday as the club still require international clearance.
