West Ham are through to the quarter finals of the FA Cup after an easy 5-1 victory over Burnley at Upton Park on Monday night.
Thomas Hitzlsperger put the Hammers in front with a long range effort on his debut, before two Carlton Cole strikes early in the second half assured the London side's passage. Winston Reid made it 4-0, before Jay Rodriguez scored Burnley's consolation.
Chris Iwelumo almost made it 4-2 but saw his effort saved on the line by Reid, and Freddie Sears wrapped up the victory for Avram Grant's men on full-time.
Eddie Howe's Championship actually enjoyed the better of the first half, with Tyrone Mears and Chris Eagles tormenting the West Ham defence.
However, their resistance crumbled as soon as Hitzlsperger took the ball from Scott Parker and unleashed an effort that Lee Grant was powerless to stop.
West Ham's second was farcical. Cole received the ball in the Burnley box and, while his touch was awful, somehow Grant spilled the ball and the former Chelsea striker hooked in.
Cole's second was far more pleasing on the eye. The centre forward controlled Mark Noble's cross and unleashed an unstoppable effort that made it 3-0.
Reid's first goal for the Hammers, a header from a Hitzlsperger cross, turned the game into a procession long before Rodriguez made the most of a defensive mix up between Wayne Bridge and Robert Green.
Iwelumo's effort was somehow blocked on the line on 90 minutes by Reid, before Sears showed terrific pace and scored easily from 15 yards.
