Aquilani seeks Juve deal

by Setanta Staff , 24 February 2011 football news

The agent of Liverpool's Alberto Aquilani claims the midfielder is keen to join Juventus on a permanent basis.

The former Roma star has spent this season on loan with the Turin giants, after he was told that he would not be guaranteed regular first-team football at Anfield.

Despite a change in manager at Anfield, with Roy Hodgson replaced by Kenny Dalglish, Aquilani is still likely to move on in the summer.

Juve are understood to have an agreement in place for the 26-year-old, who joined the Reds for £17million, and agent Franco Zavaglia believes a deal will be struck.

Zavaglia told Radio-Mercato: "The Bianconeri's leadership is absolutely determined to retain the player at the end of the season and they have repeated it several times. Liverpool will not discount the player. If Juventus will not retain him, he returns to Liverpool even if the player wants to play in Ital."
