Barcelona's Xavi may return in time for Barcelona's league game against Valencia next week, with a view to facing Arsenal in the Champions League on March 8.
The playmaker picked up a leg injury against Athletic Bilbao last weekend, but is determined to face Valencia on Wednesday- a week before Barca's second-leg tie clash Arsenal.
"We'll see how it develops but in principle I could be fit for the Valencia game," said the Spaniard in a press conference. "These are feelings you have yourself."
Xavi added: "Last year I played with a similar injury but each person has their own sensations, if they feel mentally prepared."
The league leaders must overturn a 2-1 deficit if they are to progress into the quarter-finals, after David Villa's first-half goal was cancelled out by two stunning strikes, one by Robin van Persie and another from Andrey Arshavin, at the Emirates.
