Trump eyeing Masters 'buzz'

by Setanta Staff , 15 January 2012

Judd Trump wants to re-create the 'buzz' he felt after winning the UK Championship when he begins his quest to win the Masters.

The 22-year-old made a dramatic rise to prominence when he beat Mark Allen 10-8 to win the UK title in York last month.

He begins his Masters challenge against Stuart Bingham on Monday, with the winner set to play a glamour tie against either Ronnie O'Sullivan or defending champion Ding Junhui in the quarter-finals.

Trump is determined to try and match his UK Championship success at Alexandra Palace this week.

"I'm looking to go a long way in the tournament and get back the buzz that I had at the UK. Being in a big final is completely different to any other match, it's just a great feeling and brilliant atmosphere," said the world number five.

"Stuart and I have both broken through and won tournaments this season but we both still have a bit to prove in terms of playing well on TV.

"I'll probably edge my way into the match and settle down, hopefully get a lead then I'll be able to relax and take shots on."
