Wigan have rejected Fulham's offer of Andy Johnson plus cash for Hugo Rodallega.
Roberto Martinez has already confirmed that Rodallega could be allowed to leave at the right price but so far nobody has come near to matching the club's valuation.
QPR have already failed with one bid of £4million but could come back with more if they fail with their attempts to sign Bobby Zamora from the Cottagers and now Martin Jol's men have also failed.
The bid does come as a surprise after Jol said at the weekend that Johnson was not for sale but he is now ready to use the striker a makeweight.
Fulham could also throw in the versatile Baird and that may just convince Wigan to sanction the move.
