Liverpool have confirmed the capture of Joao Carlos Teixeira from Sporting Lisbon for an undisclosed fee.
The Reds have been tracking the highly-rated 19-year-old midfielder for some time and are reported to have paid the Portuguese club an initial fee of £850,00.
The youngster first caught the eye when starring for Sporting in the NextGen Series match at Anfield back in August and the Reds have finally wrapped up a deal.
Sporting are in financial trouble and have been forced to cash in on the midfielder, who has been compared to former Chelsea and Barcelona star Deco.
Teixeira will initially start with the Liverpool Academy before progressing through to the senior squad.
