Murray confident of grand slam glory

by Setanta Staff , 08 February 2012

Andy Murray is adamant that he will win a grand slam title after his march to the Australian Open semi-finals last month.

The 24-year-old British number one, who reached the final in Melbourne in 2010 and 2011 respectively, was beaten by world number one and eventual winner Novak Djokovic in a marathon five-hour contest at the last-four stage this year.

However, the Scot claims he feels a lot more positive about his game this time around then he did when he lost in the final to the same opponent just over 12 months ago.

Speaking during an event at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, Murray said: "It was a long, long match. One of the longest I have ever played on the tour and probably one of the highest standards as well.

"I feel way, way better coming away from the Australian Open this year than I did last year and much, much more positive about my game and the future.

"I'm really looking forward to the rest of the year now."

On his long wait to secure a grand slam crown in his career, Murray added: "I am going to win one."
