Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has ruled himself out of the running to be the next England boss following the resignation of Fabio Capello.
Pardew has done a tremendous job when guiding Newcastle to fifth in the Premier League this season and it comes as no surprise to see him linked with the vacant England job.
Harry Redknapp is hot favourite to take over from Capello, who stepped down on Wednesday, but Pardew is second favourite with the bookies should the Tottenham boss turn it down.
However when quizzed about the situation this morning, Pardew completely ruled out the possibility of him taking charge even though it would mean leading his country into a major tournament.
"Firstly, as an Englishman, I am proud to be in that sort of frame but it's not for me and I will make that quite clear," Pardew revealed. "I am not even in the running as far as I am concerned."
