Tottenham Hotspur are set to reward defensive duo Ledley King and Benoit Assou-Ekotto with new deals at White Hart Lane.
Centre-half King is out of contract at the end of the season and Spurs are eager to keep hold of the defender, despite his long stranding knee problem.
King's chronic knee problem prevent him from training but the defender has still managed 14 league starts for Spurs this season, which has helped to convince the club to begin talks over a new deal.
It is understood that the defender will reject any appearance related deal, but King is keen to extend his stay at White Hart Lane.
Assou-Ekotto has been an ever-present in the Spurs defence this season, with the left-back starting every Premier League game to date, and the club are set to reward the 27-year-old with a new deal.
