Emmanuel Adebayor has expressed his delight at rediscovering his goalscoring touch in Tottenham's 5-0 thrashing of Newcastle United.
The Togolese striker, who is currently at White Hart Lane on a season-long loan from Manchester City, turned in an impressive all-round display as he created Spurs' other four goals as well as finding the net himself for the first time in 713 minutes of football.
Adebayor has tried to play down his contribution despite earning massive praise from his manager Harry Redknapp for setting "the tone" for the game in the opening stages.
However, the forward is adamant his main focus is on team success rather than winning plaudits for his own efforts, as he took greater satisfaction from another win which keeps them 10 points clear of fifth placed Arsenal.
"When you go through four, five, six games without scoring you start questioning yourself what is wrong," Adebayor told the club's official website."I've had some stick from my team-mates - in a good way - but it was important to be part of it, to score, to make assists.
"I'm here to help the team win games, that's most important. I've worked hard in training and my team-mates all believe in me and what I can do.
"I'm very happy, very pleased. We took the three points, we showed character, personality."
