Northampton have confirmed that full-back Ben Foden will be out of action for 'a number of weeks' with an ankle injury.
The England man was awaiting the results of a scan but the initial diagnosis was not too good after he sustained significant damage to his ankle ligaments in last Friday's Premiership game against Bath.
Foden will be sent to see a specialist on Wednesday and the club are set to announce more details about his injury following that visit, but it seems like they are preparing for disappointing news amid reports he could be on the sidelines for up to two months.
The injury comes as a blow to both club and country, with England's first match of the season set for November 10 against Fiji.
