Brown faces lengthy lay-off

by Admin , 08 March 2010 old trafford

Manchester United defender Wes Brown may face a spell on the sidelines after possibly breaking his foot at the weekend.

The England international suffered the injury during United's 1-0 victory over Wolves at the weekend.

The Old Trafford side are still awaiting the results of a scan to discover how serious Brown's injury is.

There are fears he has broken the fifth metatarsal in his left foot, which could rule him out until the end of the season.

If Brown has broken the bone he may miss out on selection for England's World Cup squad, United have not commented on the injury and are waiting until they have the results of the scan.
