Parkinson short of left-back options

by Admin , 12 March 2010 Parkinson short of left-back options

Phil Parkinson faces a selection nightmare ahead of the south London derby against Millwall with all his left-backs injured.

The Charlton boss brought in Johnnie Jackson on loan from Notts County in order to cover for the already-injured Kelly Youga and Grant Basey but now finds himself without a recognised left-back after Jackson tweaked his hamstring.

Despite Youga returning to training he is unlikely to be risked after three months out with right-back Chris Solly, centre-half Miguel Llera or midfielder Jose Semedo set to fill in.

Elsewhere, Deon Burton could return after overcoming a groin injury but might have to settle for a place on the bench with Akpo Sodje set to lead the line again.
