Elena Baltacha's run at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells is over after she was thrashed by Alicia Molik in the third round.
The British number one is currently enjoying a resurgence in her injury-plagued career and she moved into round three with a sensational victory over world number 10 Li Na.
However, she was unable to sustain that momentum in her clash with the Australian wild card and went down in straight sets, winning just two games in the match.
The 6-0 6-2 defeat took just 56 minutes and showed that the Brit still has plenty of work today to compete on a consistent basis with the world's top players.
Molik is currently ranked a long way below Baltacha at 138 but she is a former top 10 player and, having come out of retirement in 2009, still looks a class act when at the top of her game.
Baltacha struggled in the first set, with a first-serve percentage of just 33 and her Aussie opponent took full advantage of the three break points on offer.
Molik will play either China's Zheng Jie or Maria Sharapova of Russia.
