Bolton defender Gary Cahill is set to return to training and could have an outside chance of facing Everton this weekend.
Cahill was initially told that he may have to miss the rest of the season after having a blood clot removed from his arm after the Fulham game just over a month ago but he has made a miraculous recovery and is set to return to training this week.
The England hopeful is now closing in on a return to action and could even play against the Toffees this Saturday if he gets a good week of training under his belt.
"Catching it so early has saved months of treatment," Cahill revealed. "To have missed only a month and be on the verge of returning to full training with the rest of the squad is a massive turnaround.
"I now have a chance to feature in the run-in. I am going to work hard and make sure I am in the best possible condition when that time comes around."
The defender will also be hoping to force his way into the thoughts of England boss Fabio Capello ahead of this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
