One in - one out for Wolves

by Admin , 15 March 2010 Wolverhampton Generic

Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo has returned from his loan at Bristol City but Stefan Maierhofer has moved there in his place.

Iwelumo has returned to the side following his spell with the Robins where he rediscovered his shooting boots, scoring twice in seven appearances, and he has now decided to return to Molineux to try and force his way back into the first team.

"Chris has enjoyed his time at Bristol City playing games and scoring a couple of goals," manager Mick McCarthy told the Express and Star.

"It's given him the chance to build his match sharpness up.

"He had the opportunity to stay there for longer and also go elsewhere but decided he wanted to come back and try and force his way into the team.

"Like all of the squad, he just wants to be involved and that's a really positive attitude to have."

Meanwhile he has been replaced at Ashton Gate by Austrian international Maierhofer who has only appeared once for the Wolves first team since his £1.8m move from Rapid Vienna.
