Sandro's Spurs deal 'imminent'

After months of speculation, the president of Brazilian club Internacionale says that midfielder Sandro is on the brink of joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Piffero claims that a Spurs deal for the hard-tackling 21-year-old, who has long been linked with Harry Redknapp’s Champions League-chasing side is imminent, with the London club’s chairman Daniel Levy having been in negotiations with the Brazilian club for several months.

Piffero said: "The negotiations with Tottenham have been going on since last summer, but now we are in the key moment.

"The deal is agreed and we will sign this week. I don't expect that to change because the agreement has been made between all parties."
