Martinez: Every game is massive

by Admin , 17 March 2010 football news

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has admitted every game is a big occasion for the Latics as they fight against relegation.

The Latics lie 15th in the Premier League table, just four points clear of the drop zone with nine games remaining.

Martinez is aware that every game is now massive for his side as they fight to secure their Premier League status for another term.

He said: "Every game we have left is massive, and every point will be extra significant.

"It's important we re-group (following the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa) and get ready as a football club for what will be a very important game."

Wigan host third bottom Burnley at the DW Stadium on Saturday, with the Clarets just four points behind Martinez's side, in a game that could prove pivotal in the battle against the drop.
