Old boss gets a top new job

by Admin , 17 March 2010 Old boss gets a top new job

Former Charlton boss Iain Dowie is back in football after being handed the challenge of keeping Hull City in the Premier League.

The 45-year-old has nine games to help the Tigers beat the drop after agreeing a short-term contract to succeed Phil Brown at the KC Stadium.

Dowie has spent much of this season working as a Sky Sports pundit and will start his new job with a must win clash against bottom side Portsmouth on Saturday.

He will be joined at the club by a new look backroom staff which includes former Blackburn keeper Tim Flowers and Steve Wigley.

Dowie managed the Addicks for just 12 games but won just twice after replacing Alan Curbishley in 2006.
