Striker desperate for return

by Admin , 17 March 2010 Wolverhampton Generic

Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo is desperate to get back into the starting line up and can not wait for his return.

The striker has been away at Bristol City on loan to pick up his match sharpness but returned to the club this week in order to push for a first team recall.

The Scotland international is hoping to be part of the action against local rivals Aston Villa this Saturday and he is predicting a close fight to avoid the drop which may go right to the end of the season.

"It might even be the lowest points total to stay up which might work in our favour," he told the Express and Star.

"Maybe another three wins will do it and it's still in our hands - we've got to scrap for every point to stay in the league. "

It was a massive result at Burnley, a 12-pointer I reckon!

"I've watched the whole game since and the boys did well. "

It showed the character here - we've always been united and are not scared of any challenge in front of us.

"We've got to approach every game in the same manner."
