The European Tour heads this week to the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam Golf Course in Rabat, Morocco, for the Trophee Hassan II.
The €1.375million Pro-Am event started in 1971 but joins The European Tour International Schedule for the first time this year.
The tournament takes place at the Robert Trent Jones-designed Red and Blue courses at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam. Easily the best course in Morocco, the island short hole at nine and the winding 18th are the stand-out challenges.
It is a course for long, straight hitters, with fairways giving little onward momentum, and greens that are small and raised.
Teams of one professional and one amateur will play both the Red and Blue courses on Thursday and Friday.
Then, over the weekend the leading 65 professionals and those tied for 65th place playing the remaining 36 holes over the Red course.
Paul McGinley returns after knee problems will be joined in Rabat by his fellow Irishmen Darren Clarke, Michael Hoey, Peter Lawrie, Shane Lowry and Damien McGrane, all European Tour champions.
Lawrie is tipped as an outside bet to win the tournament after he was second at this course in 2002.
However, Hoey's record in Morocco is even better. He has won events in each of the last two seasons, the first coming in the 2008 Moroccan Classic at El Jadida.
He was fourth behind Ernie Els in the event last year, finishing strongly with a closing round of 66.
