Borthwick remains injury doubt

by Mark Doyle , 18 March 2010

England's players will not find out until just before their departure for Paris whether captain Steve Borthwick will be fit to lead them in Saturday's RBS 6 Nations clash with France.

Borthwick underwent a scan on his injured left knee on Thursday, the results of which are now being assessed by the national team's medical staff.

A decision will not be taken on the lock's availability for the clash with Les Bleus until Friday morning. As a result, Stade Francais' Tom Palmer will remain with the squad.
