Schumi to shun GPDA

by setanta.com staff , 18 March 2010

Michael Schumacher's manager has revealed that the seven-time world champion is unlikely to rejoin the Grand Prix Drivers' Association.

The German headed the organisation before his retirement from the sport in 2006 but, now that he is back on the F1 grid, the Mercedes ace is reluctant to link back up with the GPDA, according to Sabine Kehm.

"Michael still supports the work of the GPDA but he is not sure if he will join again," she told Bild.

"After all, he took the lead in this area for years. Now he really wants the others, who have taken over in the meantime, to continue."
