Defender set for Spurs exit

Tottenham defender Alan Hutton could be set for a permanent move to Sunderland after boss Steve Bruce confirmed his interest.


The Scottish international joined Sunderland on loan in January for the remainder of the season after failing to secure a regular spot in the Tottenham starting eleven.

Bruce has now admitted he would be keen to sign Hutton permanently, although he is yet to speak to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp about a possible deal.

He said: "I have not yet had any conversation with Harry Redknapp to see if he will be available,

"But if he was available in the summer, of course, I would be interested.

"He has done particularly well for us and has slipped into the team very nicely."

Spurs paid Rangers £8million in 2008 to bring Hutton to White Hart Lane.
