Maguire sees reasons to be positive

by Admin , 26 April 2010 SPL_Kilmarnock

Chris Maguire insists Kilmarnock are convinced they can survive in the SPL and that the players are not even contemplating relegation.

Jim Calderwood's men slumped to a 1-0 defeat at fellow strugglers St Mirren on Saturday to remain one point clear of basement side Falkirk, who lost 1-0 at home to Hamilton.

There are just three games left but Killie's run of nine defeats in the last ten games is a cause for concern, although Maguire insists the players are staying positive.

"I don't want to use the relegation word and neither does anyone else in the dressing room. It's in our hands and we'll keep fighting," the striker on loan from Aberdeen said.

"If everyone works together, I'm sure we can get through. We have important games coming up but the way we played here proved we can hang in there."
