Johnson determined to bounce back

by Admin , 28 April 2010 Johnson determined to bounce back

Peterborough boss Gary Johnson insists he can cope with the pressure of leading the Posh on a promotion push next season.

Johnson accepts he has a lot of work to do at London Road over the summer but is confident he can cope with the expectations the club have ahead of their League One campaign.

He said: "Bristol City were bottom of League One when I went there, Yeovil were desperate to get in the Football League for the first time and Latvia wanted to reach the European Championships so I'm used to pressure and expectations. "

Of course there is a lot of work to do here and I am expecting a very hectic few weeks dealing with players coming and going, but success doesn't come easy so I'm happy to put in the hours." Johnson is keen to get a good start next season as the Posh look to secure promotion from League One at the first time of asking and the former Bristol City boss admits he will have a busy summer ahead of him.

He added: "I am determined to hit the ground running next season.

The players can put their feet up for three weeks then the ones I want here next season will report back to the club and be given a programme which I expect them to follow.

Then I expect a modicum of fitness when proper pre-season training starts on July 1."
