Darren Ferguson believes Preston are close to signing new players in the next couple of weeks.
The Preston North End boss is looking to retain the services of Manchester United duo Danny Welbeck and Matt James as well as bringing in some new faces to Deepdale.
Ferguson said: "I have my targets and we are down the line with certain ones.
"
I'm trying to get some in quite quickly before people go away on holiday.
The chairman has been really positive about that," he added.
Preston have their final league game against Reading on Sunday and the Scottish manager will look looking to finalise potential signings soon after the final whistle.
"
Hopefully one or two players will be in over the next couple of weeks, and it's not the United lads I'm talking about, it is different players.
"Matt James' deal is done really, without actually signing any contracts yet, and with Danny Welbeck there will be another couple of conversations."
