Ask Jack answers Topaz questions

by setanta.com staff , 27 July 2010

Ask Jack left his 17 rivals toiling as he stormed to success in the Topaz Mile European Breeders Fund Handicap at Ballybrit on Tuesday evening.

The 9-1 shot set a relentless gallop up front under jockey Chris Hayes and at the line had two-and-a-half lengths to spare over Mid Mon Lady (25-1) while Worldly Wise and fellow pace-setter If Per Chance filled the places.

Trained by Joseph Murphy, the six-year-old dominated from the front to land the feature race on day two of the week-long festival of racing at the famous Galway track.

The Kevin Prendergast-trained Mujaazef, who was sent off the well-supported 4-1 favourite, never landed a blow for Declan McDonogh after encountering trouble in running early on.
