Lashes set for racing return

by Setanta Staff , 28 July 2010

Lush Lashes could be set to make a surprise return to racing.

Jim Bolger's five-year-old was covered by Sea The Stars after her retirement in September but she lost the foal and has now been handed a surprise entry in the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

"Lush Lashes was covered by Sea The Stars and scanned in foal at 42 days but did not hold on to it - she lost the foal," Bolger explained.

"She is nearly ready now but I have no definite plan as to where she will run first - I will decide in the next two or three weeks. She is very well and seems to be back to her old self. She is so versatile that it will be fairly easy to place her."

Lush Lashes and stable companion Gile Na Greine are among the 46 entries for the October 2 feature with Aidan O'Brien including Devoted To You, Famous, Ice Empress, Lillie Langtry and You'll Be Mine.

Goldikova could return to headquarters with Music Show and Jacqueline Quest also entered.

The list of entries also include Spacious, Strawberrydaiquiri, Lahaleeb, Bethrah and Rosanara.
