Coyle "always looking" for new faces

by Admin , 29 July 2010 Bolton Generic2

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has revealed he is still on the look-out for new faces, with a striker thought to be his priority.

Spanish defender Marcos Alonso became Coyle's third signing of the summer earlier this week, following the arrivals of Martin Petrov and Robbie Blake, but the Wanderers boss is still looking to improve his side.

"I'm always looking to improve and I'm not finished yet," Coyle told the Bolton News. "It's easy to say there will be two or three new signings - but what I can say is that I'll look to add a couple more before the end of the month.

"You can never say definitively that it will happen because as you saw with the Marcos Alonso deal, it can be quite complex.

"We'll do our utmost to improve the squad by the start of the season, and if not, certainly the close of the window."

Forwards Macoumba Kandji, who plays for MLS side New York Red Bulls, and Rodrigo Moreno, a Real Madrid youngster, have been linked in recent weeks and a striker is thought to be the Wanderers boss' top priority.

However, Coyle will also have to trim his current squad ahead of the new season due to the new 25-man squad rule the Premier League has introduced.

Clubs have until 1700 BST on September 1 to submit their final squads to the Premier League, with changes allowed during the January transfer window, and the likes of Nicky Hunt, Danny Shittu, Andy O'Brien and Jlloyd Samuel are all tipped to depart before the transfer window closes.
