Preview: Sunderland v Colchester

by setanta.com staff , 23 August 2010

Sunderland's Lee Cattermole and Michael Turner return from suspension for the Carling Cup clash with Colchester.

George McCartney (ankle), Craig Gordon (fractured arm) and David Meyler (knee) remain on the sidelines, whilst John Mensah is also out.

Andy Reid and Anton Ferdinand could return from hamstring problems.

Colchester could be without defender Paul Reid, who sustained a knock in Saturday's 2-1 win at Rochdale.

Goalkeeper Ben Williams is back in training after an ankle injury but Mark Cousins should keep his place.

Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole and defender Morten Knudsen have long-term knee injuries, whilst striker Steven Gillespie has an ankle problem.
