Preview: Kilmarnock v Rangers (Weds)

by Setanta staff , 26 October 2010

Rangers defender Sasa Papac will miss the Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday.

The Bosnian full back injured his ankle in the Old Firm win over Celtic on Sunday and may sit out the next two games before returning for the Champions League away match with Valencia next midweek.

He is the only new injury problem for the Gers, who put seven past Dunfermline Athletic in the previous round as Kyle Lafferty hit a hat-trick.

The Northern Ireland international and James Beattie are favourites to lead the line against Killie, with Aberdeen loan-signing Richard Foster cup-tied.

The home side, close to the foot of the SPL, have no new injury worries but boss Mixu Paatelainen must do without Alan Combe and James Dayton on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Combe is yet to return from summer hernia surgery, while winger Dayton is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
