Preston keen to keep Potters pair

by Admin , 07 December 2010 Preston keen to keep Potters pair

Preston boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed he is eager to extend Michael Tonge and Danny Pugh's loan stays at Deepdale.

The Potters duo joined North End on short-term loan deals and are due to return to the Britannia on December 18.

However, Ferguson is keen for the pair to remain with the Championship side beyond their current deals, although it remains to be seen if Potters boss Tony Pulis will sanction extensions for Pugh and Tonge after hinting they could be recalled earlier in the week.

"We had a conversation, Tony Pulis and I," Ferguson told BBC Radio Lancashire. "He's gone away to think about it and I'll probably get an answer by the end of (Tuesday)."
