Preview: Celtic v St Johnstone

by Setanta Staff , 24 December 2010

Celtic will have to do without Gary Hooper when they host St Johnstone in the Scottish Premier League on St Stephen’s Day.

The striker will be out of action for four to six weeks due to an ankle injury.

Scott Brown, however, is once again available, and the midfielder may be set to make his first start in over two months.

Beram Kayal, who has recovered from hernia trouble, and Mark Wilson, who has gotten over a groin injury, are also both available for selection once again.

Efrain Juarez has shaken off an illness to return to the squad.

St Johnstone will be missing the services of Jody Morris and Jamie Adams for the trip to Glasgow, both because of suspension.

Murray Davidson, however, should be fit for the Parkhead clash, despite picking up an ankle knock during a training session.

The Bhoys desperately need victory to keep up the pressure on rivals Rangers at the top of the table, whilst the visitors will remain in the bottom half of the SPL, even if they manage an unlikely win at Celtic Park.
