Robins leaves Barnsley - reports

by Setanta Staff , 12 May 2011 Robins leaves Barnsley - reports

Barnsley boss Mark Robins has reportedly had his contract terminated at Oakwell.

Local reports say that the former Manchester United striker, who joined the Reds from Rotherham in 2009, has been told he is now serving a 12-month notice period as per the terms of his contract.

The 41-year-old guided Barnsley to 17th in the Championship this season, their highest finish for five years, but an overall disappointing campaign has led to owner Patrick Cryne apparently decide it is best for Robins to depart.

The club have yet to officially confirm Robins' has left while the manager has also yet to comment on the reports.
