Sligo captain Charlie Harrison insists that Sligo need to beat Leitrim on Sunday in order to get them back on track after losing to Roscommon in the last Connacht final.
Despite losing three times in the league already this season at Markievicz Park, Sligo are still favourites as going in to Sunday’s game.
“We see this as our little fortress, even though it didn’t seem like that during the league,” said Harrison.
“Losing to Leitrim doesn’t even come into it. We will be inconsolable if that happens.”
“If things don’t go well we will struggle for the rest of the season.”
“Sligo fans really got behind us in the last [home] games against Mayo and Galway last year and we are going to need that kind of support again against Leitrim.”
Sligo have been hit with a number of injuries coming up to this game, with David Kelly and Johnny Davey both unfit to play. Mark Breheny is unfit to start, but has been given a spot on the bench.
