Udinese's Alexis Sanchez has reportedly disappointed Manchester United and Manchester City by moving closer to a switch to Barcelona, with the fee for the player thought to be in the region of €38 million.
According to reports, United and City both recently sent representatives to Italy to discuss potential bids for the extremely highly-rated Chilean winger.
However, it appears that the 22-year-old, who is currently preparing for the Copa America with his national side, will be on the way to Catalonia this summer.
The La Tercera newspaper claimed on Sunday: “Udinese agree on the sale of Sanchez to Barcelona for $54 million." The daily also said that the player's agent, Fernando Felicevich, had agreed a four-deal deal on behalf of his client.
It has also been reported - El Mercurio releasing this news - that Sanchez is to have a medical at Barcelona this week, having been handed permission by Chile manager Claudio Borghi to muss Thursday's friendly with Paraguay.
