by Setanta Staff , 03 July 2011

Kevin Keen has been appointed as a first-team coach with Liverpool.

Keen has penned a three-year deal with the Merseysiders, having spent nine years on West Ham’s coaching staff, and will share first team duties with Steve Clark, under Kenny Dalglish.

On Sunday, Dalglish welcomed Keen to Anfield, saying: “I'm delighted that Kevin is joining us to work alongside Steve Clarke coaching the first team squad. He has previously worked with Steve at West Ham and has a good reputation and a good manner about him.

"He is highly respected in the game and will be a great addition to our technical staff."

As a player, Keen made over 600 senior appearances, during spells with West Ham, Wolves, Stoke City, Macclesfield and Wycombe.

Liverpool announced on Thursday that former first team coach Sammy Lee had parted company with the club.
