Carlow have been hit with a double blow ahead of their All-Ireland qualifier against Antrim this Saturday.
Sean Gannon and Alan Curran have both decided to step down from the panel for the remainder of the summer, as both have long standing plans to travel for the next few months.
Gannon played at full forward during the Leinster Championship victory against Louth earlier in the season, while Curran featured as a substitute during the provincial semi-final defeat against Wexford earlier in the month.
Both Curran and Gannon are not the first players to leave the Carlow panel this season, with a number of others having already decided not to play for their county.
Despite this, the team will be looking ahead to going on a good run in this year’s championship and will be hoping to overcome Antrim at Casement Park on Saturday.
