Nigel Crawford insists he has not retired from inter-county football - but is giving his future with the Royal County a lot of thought.
The 31-year-old midfielder reportedly missed a recent debriefing session and was tipped to hang up his boots.
However, the St Peter's, Dunboyne clubman, who won an All-Ireland with Meath 12 years ago, said: "I'm not going to rush anything.
"Maybe it's time for a change but we'll have to see over the next few months and see how the body is."
Earlier in the week Crawford delivering a stinging critique of Meath's development under manager Seamus McEnaney this season.
"I think we have gone back a lot from where we were," he said.
"We were in the perfect position to build on our Leinster success and getting to two All-Ireland semi-finals in three years, but instead of improving upon those performances we have gone backwards.
"I think the change of management has had a lot to do with it. Under Eamonn (O'Brien), Bob (O'Malley), Sean (Kelly) and Donal (Curtis), we were going places and they had a very good relationship with the players. We were building a team and going in the right direction."
