New Wicklow football manager Harry Murphy's immediate aim is to "make further progress" with the Garden County and continue on the work done by his illustrious predecessor, the legendary Mick O'Dwyer.
Murphy will surely be hoping to restore a similar level of confidence to that which he instilled into his Rathnew side and in particular, between 2000 and 2003, when they club won four senior football titles in a row.
"You would be wasting your time trying to compete with somebody like 'Micko' and what he has achieved," Murphy is quoted as saying in the The Sun.
"It's up to me to put my own stamp on the team now and try to make further progress.
"I hadn't expected to be asked but I suppose managing your own county would always be something at the back of your mind.
"I wouldn't have been chomping at the bit to do it but once I was asked I was delighted to accept and hopefully do a good job.
"There is a fine team there - you could see that again this year. It is up to me now to get the best out of the players, get them to trust in me, and see if we can strengthen the panel."
