Megson angry at decision despite win

Sheffield Wednesday boss Gary Megson criticised the goal which put Yeovil level before half-time although the Owls did go on to win 3-2.

A controversial first-half strike from Keiran Agard put Wednesday on the back foot after new boy David McGoldrick had given them a 10th minute lead.

The incident was sparked when the official dropped the ball in the Yeovil penalty area and expected Luke Ayling to punt it back to the Owls' defenders.

His kick was not strong enough and goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell and his skipper Rob Jones collided as they went to sort it out.

It gave Agard the chance to nip in and fire into an empty net.

Agard scored again before Julian Bennett and Gary Madine sealed the win.

Megson said: "It threw us off course. We were well on top and if the lad was trying to knock it back he didn't knock it back well enough. "

Something like this happened in my first game at Leicester against Nottingham Forest and we let the keeper walk through the field to score because we thought it was the right thing to do.

"We can't tell other people what to do - that is down to themselves. But if the same thing had happened the other way round we would have let them score from the kick off."
