The Antrim county board is to investigate an alleged assault on a referee during this weekend’s U21 football championship semi-final.
It has been claimed that official Ray Matthews was attacked moments after the final whistle of Lamh Dhearg's win over Rasharkin in Ballymena, with Mastthews said to have needed hospital treatment in the aftermath.
Rasharkin had three players sent off in the final five minutes of the game, as players clashed prior to the end of the game.
Matthews is reported to have needed escorting from the pitch, as did linesman Owen Elliot who was also injured.
County board chairman Jim Murray later said that the CCC have been made aware of a ‘very serious incident’.
"We have not received the referee's report as of yet. We hope to have that with the CCC tomorrow," Murray was quoted as saying by hoganstand.com.
"He (Matthews) was abused, certainly - we don't know the exact detail yet. There was an incident and the CCC will investigate swiftly."
Lamh Dhearg will face Creggan in the decider. They won Saturday’s controversial encounter by 1-12 to 1-6, with Creggan taking down defending champions Cargin 2-10 to 0-8.
