Palace set to win Martin loan race

by Setanta Staff , 14 November 2011

Crystal Palace look set to win the race to sign Norwich City striker Chris Martin on loan.

Martin is looking to get some regular football after making just four appearances so far for the Canaries this season.

Boss Paul Lambert wants to keep him around in case of an injury to Grant Holt or Steve Morison but recognises the benefit for Martin in him joining Palace until January.

Derby, Nottingham Forest and Milllwall are all believed to be keen on taking the 23-year-old for a short spell, but Palace have emerged as favourites to land him and are hopeful of concluding a deal in the coming days.
