Unsworth remaining short-sighted

by Setanta Staff , 15 December 2011 football news

David Unsworth insists neither himself or veteran midfielder Graham Alexander are looking any further than Preston's televised clash with MK Dons on Saturday.

The pair were placed in temporary charge of North End by chairman Peter Ridsdale after boss Phil Brown parted company with the club on Wednesday.

Unsworth took charge of North End for a two-game spell last season in the period between Darren Ferguson's sacking and Brown's appointment but, despite both men currently being in the process of completing their UEFA pro licenses, the former Everton defender insists a prolonged stay in the Deepdale hotseat has not been on the agenda.

"Quite honestly we haven't even discussed it, we haven't had time to discuss it," he said. "And it's not down to us anyway, it's down to the chairman.

"We're just trying to be as professional as we can be and relax the players.

"There's no discussion of what's going to happen next week or over Christmas. We're just looking to Saturday's game."
