Pascal Chimbonda has signed a renewed contract to remain with Doncaster until the end of the season.
Less than a week after El-Hadji Diouf agreed an extended 18-month stay at the Keepmoat Stadium, French defender Chimbonda has become the latest player to commit his immediate future to Dean Saunders' npower Championship strugglers.
The 32-year-old former Wigan, Tottenham and Blackburn full-back became the first part of an extensive recruitment drive following Saunders' appointment as Sean O'Driscoll's successor in September, arriving on a short-term deal following his summer release from QPR.
"The aim is to stay in the Championship," Chimbonda told Doncaster's official website. "If we do we can achieve big things.
"
There's a lot who've followed me in that are quality like Diouf and (Herita) Illunga and I want to stay with them until the end of the season.
"Maybe after that we can aim for the play-offs but first we have to beat Watford and Barnsley."
