Late call on Tunnicliffe

by Setanta Staff , 30 December 2011 Late call on Tunnicliffe

On-loan midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe could return to the Peterborough squad for the trip to Middlesbrough.

Manchester United teenager Tunnicliffe failed to recover from a dead leg sustained during the home win over Coventry and joined skipper Grant McCann (knee), fellow midfielder Lee Frecklington (groin) and right-back Mark Little (groin) on the injury list for the Boxing Day fixture against Nottingham Forest.

Tunnicliffe has recovered from that issue but he has been ill this week and will be monitored.

Lee Tomlin was nursing a knee problem following the Coventry clash and he was only fit enough for a place on the substitutes' bench at the City Ground.

The forward could be restored to the starting line up on Teesside, but there is no chance of McCann, Frecklington or Little being involved.

Frecklington had a chance of making the Forest game but he broke down in training on Christmas Eve and now faces an operation.
